First Presbyterian Child Care Center is a Christian school and teaches nondenominational Christian principles, along with age-appropriate developmental curriculum. We do not discriminate in regard to sex, race, color, creed, or political belief. The goal of the First Presbyterian Child Care Center is to provide a safe, nurturing Christian environment for preschool children who require day care and/or educational experience. The result will be educational, spiritual, physical, social and emotional growth.
First Presbyterian Child Care Center provides a year-round program for children 6 weeks to Kindergarten. We have professional, trained staff; hands-on learning centers; language development for reading readiness; parklike playgrounds; nutritious meals and snacks; and we are freeway close.
At the First Presbyterian Child Care Center, we firmly believe that children learn by doing and that time spent in our center should benefit the whole child. We strive to accomplish this through:
-
Well-supervised indoor and outdoor play.
-
Creative expression through a variety of media including music, art and drama.
-
Training in observation and manipulation of the child's environment through science experiments, nature walks, cooking and learning centers.
-
Development of language skills through stories, sharing of experiences, finger play and puppetry.
-
Emphasis on moral and ethical concepts presented through songs, stories, community visitors and biblical examples.
Children will be assigned to classrooms according to their ages. There will be several periods during each day for children to play with other children of their ages from other classrooms, based on each child's needs and interests. Each classroom is staffed with a qualified teacher. The teacher may be assisted by a trained aide, parent volunteer or teacher trainee.
